Initially drafted to support with content and creative, Revel were quickly invited to take over full event management of ISLEXPO in its inaugural year – with responsibility for production, programming, brand development, marketing, sponsorship, partnerships and PR. The client – Isle of Man Government, a leading offshore jurisdiction – was looking for an event designed to encourage enterprise across a range of sectors, celebrating the Isle of Man as an international centre for business, attracting relocating businesses and inward investment. We developed this concept to create an engaging platform for delegates, sponsors and supporters to learn, debate and connect.
The event was launched with a gala dinner opened with an incredible speech from Britain’s most successful Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy. This set a motivational tone for the whole event, which followed with a packed programme of internationally renowned speakers, dynamic panels, interactive workshops and informal networking – all fuelled by artisan food and drink.
Delegates were inspired to develop their own start-ups by inspiring talks from global business leaders, a live pitching contest, practical sessions from Google Digital Garage and hands-on professional advice. The contemporary, digital event staging was designed to stimulate and encourage fluidity of movement across the venue.
ISLEXPO was a runaway success and exceeded expectations across the board, in terms of profile, delegate numbers and industry buy-in. Target numbers for attendance, sponsorship and digital reach were smashed with #ISLEXPO trending for two days. Key sponsors, partners and press from international organisations were fully engaged.
