‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ celebrated the work of one of the world’s most innovative and talented fashion designers. The V&A’s landmark retrospective attracted a staggering 493,043 visitors and opened with an exclusive fundraising dinner.
As a member of the V&A’s core event project team managing event production, sponsorship and fundraising, Kate had responsibility for table sales, guest liaison, seating and donations on the night. The event was designed to celebrate the life and work of Alexander McQueen and highlight the V&A’s important role as both fashion archive and source of inspiration.
The event was a fantastic success for McQueen, the V&A and its sponsors. An incredible evening was designed by producers Gainsbury & Whiting in conjunction with McQueen and managed by the in-house team. Guests included Alexander McQueen’s friends and family, celebrities, Museum donors, leading fashion press and sponsors Swarovski, American Express and Kering. A-listers such as David and Victoria Beckham, Naomi Campbell and Salma Hayek enjoyed a performance by FKA Twigs and a choreographed dance featuring Kate Moss alongside male dancers all wearing McQueen. Guests gave generously on the night in support of the V&A’s fashion collection.
Elements of the ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty Gala Dinner’ were overseen by Kate Brier during her time at the V&A.

“I’ve worked with Kate several times on high profile events at the V&A, when nothing short of excellence would suffice. If you want a hard working, ultra reliable, trustworthy event organizer who’s not afraid of rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in to deliver results beyond expectations – then I can’t think of anyone better to turn to”
